Henry M. Miller
Dr. Henry M. Miller is an historical archaeologist serving as the Maryland Heritage Scholar for the state museum of Historic St. Mary's City and directed the overall chapel reconstruction effort. A book on the entire project is under preparation and visitors are welcome to tour the site as part of the Historic St. Mary's City museum.

The first permanent Catholic church in English America stood at St. Mary’s City, Maryland’s founding site. Jesuits constructed it in the 1660s and due to political oppression, it was demolished in the early 1700s.
